Common questions
How do I check power outages in New York City?
New York City is made up of 5 boroughs, each its own county, and each utility reports at that level. This page adds up all 5 and links to every one; open the borough you are in for its own restoration outlook, or search your ZIP or address for the most specific view.
Why does New York City have 5 separate pages?
Outage numbers — the federal county-by-county tally and the utilities' own live outage data — are published county by county, and New York City's boroughs are counties. Keeping them separate is what lets each borough show its own live count and restoration outlook instead of one number for 8.5 million people. The total here adds up all 5.
